On Saturday night – six months to the day protesters began occupying Wall Street – the New York Police Department brutally cracked down on a peaceful assembly of Occupy Wall Street protesters in Zuccotti Park. Daily Occ contributors @ShawnCarrie, @JustDallas and @DiceyTroop were forcefully arrested; Dicey was filming at the time and his arrest began with police grabbing for his camera/phone. @ShawnCarrie had his hand and head stomped upon and received medical treatment for a sprained thumb, jaw, and several lacerations.

March 17, the six-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, started off so nicely and remained a beautiful celebration for many hours. It ended with a total of more than 70 arrests, most of them astonishingly and unnecessarily brutal.
There are hundreds of individual stories of what people witnessed that day and night. This is just one.
