Today is the 6-month anniversary of the beginning of Occupy Wall Street, which began in Zuccotti Park on September 17th, and there’s a heck of a lot going on today.
All day, the Left Forum is going on at PACE University, featuring about 10,000 panels and sessions. Michael Moore will be the keynote speaker. His op-ed in The Nation, “The Purpose of Occupy Wall Street is to Occupy Wall Street,” has been passed around a lot these week. There will undoubtedly be lots of live Twitter coverage of the conferences’ events, and we’ll include that in our CoverItLive stream for the day.
At 11am, @ParentsforOWS’ Chalkupy event should see quite a few OWS kids drawing in sidewalk chalk in and around the park. This was inspired by last week’s arrests of @thejorobin and Emily for drawing out a full-size pre-eviction map of Liberty Square, in Liberty Square (Zuccotti Park) itself!
At 1pm, there’s a march from Zuccotti Park at 1pm. There’s some conflict around this march, with some public disagreement between organizers around the inclusion of a “pledge” prior to marching silently down Broadway. Jeff Smith (@dontbeaputz) predicted yesterday:

To clarify: Jeff is referring not to the main march, but to the “99solidarity” component, a product of a non-GA-approved “messaging cluster”. March organizer Aaron Black tweeted this AM: “Lets take our march back. It belongs to the people.”

Later, there’s more fun promised, including potentially a 24-hour occupation of Liberty Square. There have been whispers about re-occupation, but no confirmation on that as of yet.
